...gone felching

Ok , it's the fourth cartoon in a row in poor taste.
Just getting things off of my chest.
I may have blogged at some point in the last six months or so that I have changed a colleague hilarious "Gone Fishing" notice that hung behind his desk to read "Gone Felching".
The notice is still there.
Now whether he has just plain not noticed , or of more concern prefers it I do not know.
Im now starting to feel a little guilty.
Never mind.

...lazy day

Some things should be left on the floor where you throw them in disgust.

....or until you are too lazy to draw somthing new.

...curses

I have not been here for a while now.
Wow , has it only been four days , seems longer.
I've been away sailing over a long weekend.
Sailing & thinking silly thoughts.
This was one of them.
The ultimate horror chick flick.
Help. Im going down hill fast.

...construction site eggs

For the health & safety eggecutive.

Health & safety on constrction sites, Im all for it being in place
,but legislation has gone a little far as of late to the point where to work we are suffocated by red tape.

Example :

Health & safety executive (HSE): Sorry chaps, your boys can not work from ladders any more. Very unstable. Not Safe.
The Chaps. : Ok , any suggestions that comply we want to be very safe.
HSE : Oh yes, mobile towers. Push them around, stable platform. Lock the wheels off. Very safe.
The Chaps. : Cool, we'll get rid of all our old ladders & buy shinny new platfroms.

later....

HSE : Whats that your boys are working from now?.
The Chaps : Nice shinny new mobile towers, Very safe. Good aren't they !.
HSE : Erm ...No.
The Chaps : Pardon !
HSE : Have your boys been trained to use them ?, these towers look like scaffolding to me. Gosh very unsafe indeed.
The chaps : No, no. Very safe. Shiny . New. Safe.
HSE : Have you thought about fixing hand rails & kick boards on to them , make them nice & safe?
The Chaps : Erm. No.
HSE : Would you. Very safe. Safe is good.
The Chaps : Ok, then only if it's very, very safe.
HSE : Safe. Yes. Cotton wool, Safe.
The Chaps : Erm, how do our boys climb onto our improved platform now them.
HSE : Hmm. What about a nice ladder ?

...apple horror stories.

Spot the difference.
No prizes, just the warm inner glow that if you can spot them all you are better that everyone else.

This daily diet of cartoon fruit is doing me no good.
Time to move on again.

I shall leave the last one un-ringed

...matters of perspective.

This scribble is one of those done as a snap reaction.
For the first time ever I got my cartoons chucked out of one of the groups on Flickr.com
(Thats the funny little box thing to your right & down)
People see things differently I suppose.
My perspective can be a little obscure I guess, whatever, no malice is ever intended.
To ladybirds we all say "arrrhhh, how sweet."
To ladybirds greenfly say "Arrrrghh"

...the last post

With some irony , this is the last post on Hickling Broad.
It is also the last picture taken with my little camera before I dropped it.

...misplaced priorities.

(Hmmm probably readable if you click on the cartoon)

Today the tea boiler broke. Catastrophe.
I didn't know whether to cry, stake blankly at the wall, walk out the door or just rock back & fourth until I fell asleep.
I like tea. A lot.
I have some misplaced priorities.

I work to a simple equation

Tea = caffeine replacement therapy = Happiness = more work done.

The days scribble.
Which begs an important set of questions.
What do elephants listen to on thier iPods ?
How do they use the menu button.

...the professional management team

The Aquaduct.

Architects, can't live with em,..........
Just venting my frustration for building project management.
Note the only sensible solution above, is the practical one, via the engineers. Yay for us.

I started about three cartoons today, finished only the one above.
I will come back to the caption thing on the last blog soon. For now though, sleep beckons.

...pimp my bug

Captions Please

A silly thing I do every now & then. So...
Please leave a caption, when I have enough I'll choose the silliest & put it on the cartoon.
(I favour the surreal)

(Truth is I started drawing today randomly, & the caption I came up with was not fit for general, public or civilised consumption)

Iv'e been experimenting with my cartoons a bit lately and have discovered that
they make terrible litmus paper.

...minor set backs.

Well guess what kind of a week this has been so far.

I don't have bad working days often, & Im not going to say few these have been bad.
Frustration is more of a key word.

Im steaming ahead, getting a particularly awkward design sorted out, with a building contractor on my back.
Just about finished when the project architect decides there is going to be a change to all room layouts on two out of three floors.
Devistated.
Throw all my designs away. Start again.
My dead line has not moved reletive to the delay.

My point.
As a potential control freak, I figure bad luck is something you can mostly engineer out of your days if you take the time organise. Then life is good & sweet.
The unforseen outside uncontrollable influences are a total bugger and I cant get my head around them sometimes.

.....am I the only one who lines their spare pencils up, square, neat & tidy on their desk ?
