Dr Octopus's plans were thwarted when Constable Fisher slapped the cuffs on & on & on & on & on & on & on and on.
PC Fisher had known one day his patent octo-cuffs would come in handy one day.
As a conclusion.....
I do know that; in what became known as the 'Calamari trial'; Dr O was well grilled & verbally battered by lawyers. There were the usual tears & occasional ink blot of remorse, but sucker prints found at the scene of the crime meant a high tide of public opinion went against what was a rather watery defence, leaving Dr O high & dry. Eventually the sands of time ran out. He went to the chair & fried.
His accomplice scuttled off rather shellfishly.
