The object to be drawn was a superhero, but I can't quite buy into that.

Colin , the bad tempered elephant, who just likes to sit on things.
Excellent anti-hero potential I thinks.

My original idea just sucked anyway.

I won't be geting caught out like this fellow though.
a) because I no longer own a pansy suit.
b) because I no longer get invited to those kind of parties.

When I was a kid my idea of the greatest toys were Scalelextric (slot cars) , lego & mechano
All of which seem to have become pretty retro & un-chic for kids.

But with all the technology technology, where does the imagination fit in ?

I am perplexed and despair at the thought processes behind modern western culture.
Specifically here in the UK.
The fact that it is acceptable and more annoyingly encouraged to live beyond your own means.
The culture of 'must have' the latest status symbol at any cost baffles me.

It may be because I am pretty non materialistic or that I am becoming an old fart.
I strongly suspect it to be the latter.

Blackadder (The Richard Curtis creation) once explained the procedure after standing on a land mine was
" to leap 40 feet in the air & spread your self thinly over a wide area"
A humorous take on a serious subject.
I've always been glad that Richard Curtis had the courtesy of ending the series based on life in the WW1 trenches on a reflective note & not a cheap laugh.

This was pretty much my experience of trying to eat out in Croatia.
The Ford Model T approach, you can have anything to eat as long as it is fish.

Its rude to complain though, I seem to remember it was all very good. I was happy to sample what ever was available, even the beef steak fish.
I shall have a chance to try again soon. Im off sailing around the Dalmations in May.
